Boston bombing suspect still unable to speak

He had attempted to kill himself ; Officials
We don't know if we'll ever be able to question him; Boston mayor, Tom Menino

Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev remains in a serious condition in a Boston hospital, with a gunshot wound to the throat, while investigators wait to question him. Federal and state prosecutors have yet to press charges.

Surviving Boston Marathon bomb suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev regained consciousness on Sunday evening in a Boston hospital, though his gunshot wound to the throat means he is still unable to speak.

"We don't know if we'll ever be able to question the individual," Boston mayor, Tom Menino, told This Week.

Dzhokhar, who is accused of being behind the bombings at the marathon finish line that killed three people and wounded more than 180 others, was still in serious condition on Sunday night, and authorities would not confirm whether he had been questioned. Media outlets in the US, however, reported that 19-year-old had been responding to questions in writing.

Officials said they believed that he had attempted to kill himself, because the gunshot wound to his throat “had the appearance of a close-range, self-inflicted style,” according to the New York Times.
